Childcare During Worship & Classes
We provide professional childcare every Sunday during the worship service so parents can focus on worship, knowing their little ones are in loving hands. Childcare is also available during Lively Learning, allowing parents to participate in adult education classes with peace of mind.
Our Childcare Team
Damaris Luna, our Professional Childcare Manager, is a child development specialist and co-director of Kids R Kids Daycare in Lakewood Ranch. As a mother of three, she understands the needs of families and is dedicated to providing a caring and secure environment for children.
Jaclyn Carrington is our second professional childcare provider, offering compassionate and attentive care to all children at Peace.
A Safe & Caring Environment
The safety of your children is our top priority. All staff and volunteers who work with children at Peace Church undergo fingerprinting and background checks, ensuring a secure and welcoming space for every child.
Children in Worship
Children are fully welcome to participate in the worship service. They are invited to come forward for the children's sermon.
After the children's sermon, infants, toddlers, and preschoolers are invited to either remain with their parents in worship, or go to the Nursery and childcare room for supervised play during the sermon. When Communion begins after the sermon, parents may go pick up their children and bring them to take Communion.
Parents who wish to keep their infants and preschoolers in the worship service are welcome to do so. If your child becomes restless, you are welcome to retreat to the narthex (lobby) where you can still hear and see worship.
Coloring sheets, clipboards, and crayons are available in the narthex (lobby) and flexible seating at tables is available for families.
Lively Learning (Sunday School) follows worship.
Youth
Youth in worship should be fully included as vital members of the faith community, participating in every aspect of congregational life. Their voices, gifts, and perspectives bring fresh energy and deepen the collective experience of worship.
Confirmation provides a meaningful opportunity for young people who are ready to take the next step in affirming their faith, allowing them to make a personal commitment to their spiritual journey.
In addition, the youth group meets regularly, providing a space for connection, support, and spiritual growth among peers. By engaging youth in worship and offering confirmation as a milestone of faith, the church nurtures their growth, strengthens their connection to the community, and empowers them to live out their beliefs with confidence and purpose.
Worship Training
We offer worship training for our young people, equipping them to actively participate in and lead various aspects of the service. Whether serving as acolytes, reading Scripture as liturgists, sharing their musical talents, or managing the live stream, youth are given opportunities to develop their gifts and deepen their connection to worship.
Through hands-on learning and mentorship, they gain confidence in their roles while contributing meaningfully to the faith community. By fully including young people in worship leadership, we celebrate their spiritual gifts, nurture their growth, and affirm their place as valued members of the church.
