Part-Time Sound & Live Streaming Technician

Summary:
Peace Presbyterian Church, a welcoming PC(USA) congregation, seeks a Sound & Live Streaming Technician to oversee the technical aspects of Sunday worship. This includes managing livestreaming on YouTube, in-house sound quality, projection on sanctuary screens, and coordinating volunteer sound technicians. Responsibilities:

  • Be present in the Peace sanctuary each Sunday from 8:30–11:00 a.m. to manage livestreaming, sound, and projection.

  • Prepare and manage the weekly YouTube livestream; update the church website (Squarespace) with the livestream link.

  • Monitor and adjust in-house sound during worship in cooperation with volunteers in the booth.

  • Operate and update projection on sanctuary screens (slides, lyrics, visuals, announcements).

  • Plan and adjust camera angles and scenes for the livestream, collaborating with worship leaders as needed.

  • Ensure smooth integration of PowerPoint/visuals into both in-person and online worship.

  • Coordinate and train volunteer sound technicians and maintain a schedule for coverage.

  • Troubleshoot technology issues quickly and calmly.

  • Support special events such as weddings, funerals, and major worship services (e.g., Christmas and Easter).

  • Evaluate sound, video, and projection equipment regularly and make adjustments or recommendations as necessary.

  • Occasionally assist with weddings and memorial services on Saturdays, if available.

Compensation & Benefits:
$130.00  Per occurrence of coverage

Qualifications:

  • Background or education in audio/visual technology, including livestreaming (OBS experience preferred).

  • Proficiency with camera operation, projection, and sound systems.

  • Ability to balance and mix audio for both livestream and in-person worship.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to collaborate with volunteers and worship leaders.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.

  • Problem-solving ability with a calm and professional attitude.

  • Respect for the Christian faith and worship environment.
