The sanctuary where we hold services twice each Sunday is so new that the smell of newness greets you when you walk through the doors. At Peace, our music program truly is central to our community. Thus, we built the sanctuary with careful attention to modern day, state of the art audio-visual perspectives. Even more attention was devoted to the sanctuary acoustics so that each piece of music, played and sung, sounds as it was intended.
Our new (almost as new as the Sanctuary) Music Director, Amy Cerniglia comes to us from Mississippi College. Under the study of Dr. Robert Knupp, she completed her Master of Music in Organ Performance at December 2017. In addition to years of playing organ in the PCUSA, she directed choirs and taught at Hinds County Community College in Raymond, MS. An active member of the American Guild of Organists, she serves as blog coordinator for the Sarasota-Manatee Chapter and officer for the AGO Young Organists Southeast Region.
And so, at 3:45pm, the hubbub of the Festival will quiet down as festival goers head inside the sanctuary to hear Amy show off her talents and the wonder of our new Allen organ as the magical sounds of this ancient instrument find haven in the space that seems meant for it.
